HCL Grant awarded to NGO
HCL Foundation today announced the first HCL Grant award of INR 5 crore to ‘Going to School(GTS)’. The winning NGO – Going to School was selected from six finalists and was felicitated by The President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee at a glittering ceremony today.
GTS was established in 2003 as a charitable trust with an aim to create interactive stories of role model that would inspire children to stay in school. GTS aims to use different medium of communication and storytelling to engage students, teachers, parents, community members and policy makers for creating an enabling environment for students in rural India to learn cognitive, emotional and job relevant skills.
Going to School will receive the first installment of the grant immediately on announcement and subsequent installments will be milestone based. This allows HCL to have a meaningful engagement and monitor the outcome closely.
