India Awards for Educational Excellence (IAFEE) launched


To encourage the Global community to ensure that children everywhere enjoy their fundamental rights free and secure from all forms of commercial sexual exploitation.

New Delhi, 5th October 2012: Leading global Educational consultancy CEL International today introduced the India Awards for Educational Excellence (IAFEE) at a conference graced by leading international and Indian dignitaries. These awards will recognize outstanding students, deserving educationists and contributing institutional or corporate bodies that have excelled in spheres of learning or teaching. The conference witnessed the induction of a diverse Award Panel comprising of eminent educationalists and significant personalities that have made a difference with their passion for edification. Mrs. Swapna Roy, a keynote speaker at today’s forum, unveiled the IAFEE trophy.

IAFEE is the brainchild of Mr. Amreesh Chandra who has earned numerous accolades including the prestigious ‘Freeman of the City of London’ honors for his contribution to education across the world. Speaking about the awards, Mr. Chandra, Director, CEL Pvt. Ltd. said “Sometimes, you need a bigger platform to spot the light on the expanding education system. The IAFEE Awards is an awards program to recognize the contributions of Achievers, Innovators and Contributors in the field of education and felicitate them. An education AWARD like the IAFEE is slated to be that PLATFORM.”

Currently the Award Panel comprises of 13 personalities whose views, backgrounds and vast literary skills would deliberate the merits of all nominated students. As the Awards evolve, there would be an addition of some more prominent personalities from the field who would enable a deliberate delivery of the perceived objectives. The panel’s main objective would be to sort through nominees and select ideal candidates for the awards, they would also be responsible for setting up a strategic plan to systematize and structure the awards. The award panel will deliberate on innovative ideas to create and effectively integrate new categories.

This year, 10 awards have been introduced for X and XII class students across all 4 boards of education along with 3 Carnation Special Initiatives awards for outstanding service in the field of education, special contribution in early childhood education and for special initiative in the field of rural education. Speaking about the initiative His Excellence, Mr. Zoran Starveski, Deputy Prime Minister, Republic of Macedonia, said “It is important to recognize the achievements of people who dedicate their lives to children and young people and showcase the valuable work and innovation in small and big classrooms”

As a part of IAFEE’s central Social awareness theme, Lady Mohini Kent Noon, Chairperson, Lily addressed the audience on adaptation of Lily to India. Speaking about her reasons for visiting, she stated “To encourage the Global community to ensure that children everywhere enjoy their fundamental rights free and secure from all forms of commercial sexual exploitation.”
