On a particularly beautiful evening in the capital Mrs Ratan Kaul, and Leher Sethi, held a celebration for Mother’s Day, in partnership with Cutty Sark and Sixth Element, at the splendid Asian Roots Spa, which was also the venue partner for the event.
The evening, which saw the city’s swish-set in attendance, was organized to felicitate mom achievers from different walks of life. While Her Excellency Mrs. Darja Bavdaz-Kuret, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia and Philanthropist Ms. Aruna Oswal were the Chief Guests for the event, Mrs. Shabnam Singh and Shazia Ilmi were Guests of Honour.
Some of the mother-daughter duos to be felicitated were Chess Champion Tania Sachdev and her mother Anju; Vandy Mehra, Director – Study by Janak and her daughter Aanchal; Kaushalya Reddy and daughter Bhavana; Bharti and Ishika Taneja; Sandhya Bajaj and designer Preeti Ghai; and Veena and Naina Aggarwal, to name a few.
Mrs. Ratan Kaul, Vice President of ICHR, an autonomous body that has been working for the welfare of society for over two decades, began the evening by presenting bouquets to the chief guests as well as guests of honour. This was followed by a demo, and talk, on various cosmetic techniques by specialists from Asian Roots Spa. Cutty Sark and Sixth Element were gift-sponsors at the event.
Leher Sethi, who was also the Master of the Ceremony this evening, said, “Motherhood is a major learning curve. One minute you’re pregnant and the next you’re a feeding, swaddling, diapering, soothing machine. At the same time, you’re way out of your depth, struggling to navigate a stormy sea of new emotions. The emotional hurdles of motherhood are not easy.”
Pushpanjali Banerji, Brand Director, Kyndal Group said, “It gives us great pleasure to be associated with the ‘Beautiful Mom’ event at Asian Roots spa. If anyone is entitled to time-out from their busy schedules to indulge themselves, it’s our mothers. Today, the world over, whisky isn’t just a man’s drink. The bold and distinct flavour of Cutty Sark is something our mothers will enjoy as much as our fathers. This makes the whisky a wonderful gift to buy for our moms.”
During the course of the evening eloquent speeches were given and everyone enjoyed inspiring words by the Ambassador of Slovenia, and Ms. Ilmi. Other highlights included a lucky draw, the winners of which snagged beauty and fashion gift hampers. Asian Roots also arranged for some makeover and nail art sessions to pamper all the ladies present at the do. The guests thoroughly enjoyed pairing the smooth Cutty Sark scotch whisky with healthy and nutritious finger-foods.
